NURBS in. Clean meshes out.

The built-in tessellator turns surfaces and solids into quad-dominant meshes aligned to their isocurves. Even when your file has no saved render mesh.

Your scene stays organized.

Bring hierarchical layers, colors and blocks into Cinema 4D. Blocks become real instances, with support for linked external .3dm files.

02 / FROM FILE TO SCENE

One less step between
an idea and its image.

01

Install the plugin.

Get RhinoToC4D from Gumroad and follow the included installation instructions for Cinema 4D on Windows.

02

Open your .3dm.

Load your Rhino file directly in Cinema 4D. Choose tessellation quality and exactly which scene elements to import.

03

Make it your scene.

Work with the imported geometry, fine-tune your materials and lighting, then render or animate in Cinema 4D.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
bring it over.

Check your setup, then try your own .3dm file.

RhinoToC4D requirements: Cinema 4D 2025+, Windows 10 or 11, Rhino 5–8 .3dm files, 3 seats per license, 30-day offline grace period, free demo up to 25 objects per file
Which versions are supported?

RhinoToC4D runs on Windows with Cinema 4D 2025 and newer (current builds: 2025.1+ and 2026.3+, each within its major version), and reads .3dm files from Rhino 5 through Rhino 8. A macOS build is on the roadmap; it is not currently available.

What is the demo limit?

The plugin runs without a license key and imports up to 25 objects per file. Download it from the free demo page on Gumroad.

What if my Rhino file has no render mesh?

The built-in NURBS tessellator can generate meshes from surfaces and solids, including files saved with Rhino’s Save Small option. Choose Draft, Medium, High or Custom quality.

Does it support Redshift and other renderers?

You can import standard Cinema 4D materials or choose Redshift Standard node materials. The Redshift option requires Redshift installed and falls back to standard materials otherwise. For other renderers, adjust or convert imported materials using your usual workflow.

Will every detail match the Rhino file?

Geometry, layers and supported scene elements are transferred, but this is not a pixel-identical render conversion. Some material settings need adjustment. UV texture rotation is not transferred, clipping planes are not imported, and annotation and hatch handling is simplified. Test representative files with the demo before buying.

How do licensing and offline use work?

A license key includes 3 activations. Release a seat in the plugin’s license panel to move it to another machine. Activation requires an internet connection; background license checks use a 30-day offline grace period.

How do I get support or request a refund?

Email support@rhinotoc4d.com or reply to your Gumroad purchase receipt and include your Cinema 4D version and a description of the issue. The product page currently offers a 7-day money-back guarantee. Consult the terms shown at purchase; mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.
